Messy Church is a church within a church movement that consists of making disciples of Jesus in a non-traditional way. Currently, over 100,000 people participate in Messy Church through the world, especially in England. First United Methodist Church of Manchester, NH joined the International Messy Church Movement in October 2016. Because we are averaging 90+ people coming to our Messy Church, we are running out of space! This ministry is revitalizing First UMC by connecting the churched and unchurched–lives have been filled with joy through Messy Church.
Through our Messy Church Ministry, we provide a once a month worship experience that allows participants to encounter Jesus through creativity and radical hospitality. It includes time to explore biblical themes through informal worship, arts, crafts, games, and a meal together. Messy Church is for all ages to enjoy together and is primarily for the unchurched. This model promotes healthy ways of growing as a family.
